The ARAS Foundation and its volunteers are preparing to receive hundreds of donated bicycles at Sammamish City Hall on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The bicycles, along with donated bicycle parts, will be sent to Ghana in West Africa. The donations are tax deductible.

Last year, with the assistance of the Village Bicycle Project organization, more than 600 bikes were collected in Sammamish. In the nine years the ARAS Foundation has spearheaded this local effort, more than 5,000 bikes have been shipped to Africa.

Volunteers are needed! Please contact Mary Trask at 425-868-8448 or mary@arasfoundation.org if you would like to help out. In addition to prepping the donated bikes for shipping, volunteers can also assist by seeking donations in their neighborhoods. Families, clubs, scout troops – you’re all encouraged to pitch in!
