Public meeting on Women's PGA Championship scheduled for Jan. 20

The city will host a public meeting at City Hall on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 6:30 p.m., to brief residents on the impacts and opportunities presented by the 2016 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, which will be contested at Sahalee Country Club on June 9, 10,11 and 12.

In addition to answering questions and addressing concerns, the tournament and city personnel at the meeting will touch on shuttle transportation, parking, volunteer opportunities, public safety and logistics. All residents are welcome to attend.

The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will bring some of the world’s finest golfers to Sammamish. The 156 entrants will compete for $3,500,000 in prize money on the same course that hosted the 1998 PGA Championship and the 2010 Senior U.S. Open. This will be the first time the Women’s PGA Championship will be played in the pacific northwest.
