Availability Information on COVID-19 Booster Vaccines
At the November 1 City Council Meeting, longtime Sammamish resident Mary Pigott was presented with the Distinguished Resident Award for her many years of service and generous donation of 51 acres of land to the City that makes up Big Rock Park North, Central, and future South.
The City of Sammamish is honored to bestow the Distinguished Resident Award to philanthropist and longtime Sammamish resident Mary Pigott on this date the 1st of November, 2021.
In 2010, Ms. Pigott gifted three parcels of land to the City of Sammamish as part of a phased land donation agreement. The three parcels of land, located in the center of the City, total 51 acres and are now home to Big Rock Park North (opened in 2011), Big Rock Park Central (opened in 2021), and the future Big Rock Park South.
Ms. Pigott ensured the community would benefit from the land for many generations to come by donating the land to be used as a park. She envisioned the park preserving the land’s natural beauty and elements by facilitating low-impact activities, including nature trails, open space, and passive sport meadows.
Through her lifelong service and generous donation, Ms. Pigott exemplifies the care for our community that defines a Distinguished Resident. The City of Sammamish commends Ms. Pigott's vision and is honored to have her as a Distinguished Resident.
