Cone Zone 1/31/25: Sammamish Traffic Updates
Release Date: Jan. 31, 2025
Ziply Fiber
The City has been working diligently with Ziply Fiber representatives since the January 23, 2025 Right-of-Way (ROW) permits suspension to address and resolve the issues encountered during the installation of underground high-speed fiber internet lines. Based on Ziply’s responsiveness and steps taken to resolve issues, the City anticipates lifting the ROW permit suspension for one permit in the upcoming weeks, permit number ROW2024-03745 for construction. The work associated with the permit is mostly located along 228th Ave Northeast from Northeast 8th Street to Northeast 28th Place.
If you have concerns about Ziply Fiber’s work, please submit a request through the MySammamish website or app under the category “Ziply Impacts & Concerns.” City staff will reply within the request.
Site restoration work (restoring resident yards/landscaping/irrigation, restoring temporary roadway patching, etc.) is allowed to continue on a limited basis, weather permitting.
The map of the extent of Ziply’s work in Sammamish is located here.
City of Redmond Work
Road closure on 187th Avenue Northeast near Sammamish city limit
This is a City of Redmond development project.
A City of Redmond development project requires the temporary closure of 187th Avenue Northeast adjacent to Sammamish neighborhoods to accommodate work for The Cove short plat located in Redmond. Their contractor will close 187th Avenue Northeast between East Lake Sammamish Parkway Northeast and Northeast 53rd Street. A detour will be in place along East Lake Sammamish Parkway Northeast and Redmond-Fall City Road NE (SR 202) to manage traffic during this period. This closure may impact Sammamish local traffic, including NE 54th Place Northeast and NE 55th Street. The closure is tentatively scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, and is expected to last for approximately eight working days. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information about this project, please visit the City of Redmond’s project webpage.
