Restriping work

City Staff will perform work at the intersection of Southeast 8th Street and Southeast Windsor Boulevard to restripe the center line at the south end of the intersection. A new left-turn lane will be added to westbound Southeast 8th Street. The work will take place in the late morning of Tuesday, July 9. Traffic Signal & Street Light Pole Repaint

Starting the week of July 8, City staff and its contractor will be working on painting the poles on Southeast 30th Street along the South Sammamish Park & Ride and the intersection of 228th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 30th Street. The contractor will work on the poles individually starting from the west toward the intersection. Flaggers will be alternating traffic on Southeast 30th Street just west of the park and ride. When working at the intersection, the lanes will be partially closed to protect the work zone. The work is expected to last for three weeks and crews will be in the area from 8 p.m. - 5 a.m. Drivers should use caution when traveling through the area during this time.

2024 Overlays Project

Crews will grind existing asphalt, overlaying with new asphalt, adjusting utilities and restriping the roadway starting July 10 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. During construction, traffic will be restricted to one lane with flaggers directing vehicles. Driveway access also may be temporally restricted. Drivers should use caution and expect delays.

PSE working on Louis Thompson Road power lines

The City and its partners are gearing up for work on Louis Thompson Road. Puget Sound Energy is currently replacing and raising the height of light poles in the project area. This work is being done to keep power lines clear from the City's construction.

Some vegetation will need to be removed in the vicinity of existing poles to facilitate new pole installation. In addition, the canopy of large trees will be trimmedto create clearance for the electric wires on these taller poles. Electrical work will begin June 14. PSE expects this work to be completed by the end of July.

Road Striping and Thermoplastic Markings Maintenance Work

The City will be performing striping and thermoplastic maintenance work on the city’s roads throughout the months of July and August to refresh existing fog lines, center lines, thermoplastic markings, and raised pavement markers. Thermoplastic markings include arrows, stop bars, bike symbols, and other markings in the roadway. This work will be occurring intermittently throughout the summer. Crews will place signage and warnings of wet paint, and drivers should expect delays and use caution.

Road maintenance on 244th Avenue Northeast near Redmond Fall City Rd (SR-202)

This is a King County Local Services project.

Due to a slide occurring in winter 2020, both lanes of 244th Avenue Northeast are narrowed until the impacted support wall can be repaired. Soil samples yielded unexpected data, which caused the design phase to be extended. The repair of the support wall is expected to begin July 8, 2024 and will last approximately six weeks. During this time 244th Avenue Northeast near SR 202 will be fully closed in both directions and a detour plan will be put in place. The King County Road Services Division has a 24/7 Road Helpline - (206) 477-8100. Please plan ahead for delays and extended travel times. For more information please visit the project webpage.
