Upcoming Volunteer Events

Looking for a rewarding way to give back to the environment and make a positive impact right here in Sammamish? We've got some fantastic volunteer opportunities coming your way, all centered around environmental restoration work!

Join us as we embark on a journey to create a more vibrant, wildlife-friendly Sammamish through restoration. Here's what we have in store:

October 14 - Invasive Plant Removal at Lower Commons Park: Help us prepare the grounds for a fall planting extravaganza at Lower Commons Park by removing pesky invasive plants. By doing so, you'll be helping to restore the balance of our local ecosystem. It's a wonderful way to show your love for Sammamish and the environment.

October 18 - Native Planting at Evans Creek Preserve: Join forces with our Master Stewards from the Washington Native Plant Society to establish native habitat at Evans Creek Preserve. By planting native species, you'll contribute to our city's biodiversity, all while gaining valuable knowledge about our local flora and fauna. Don't miss this chance to make a difference!

October 21 - Wild Pollinator Meadow at Evans Creek Preserve: Help us kickstart a brand-new habitat restoration project by removing invasive grasses at Evans Creek Preserve. This is the groundwork for a beautiful wild pollinator meadow set to bloom in 2024. Get your hands dirty and learn about native plants while enhancing wildlife habitat. Perfect for students seeking community service hours or anyone passionate about restoration!

This is your chance to be part of a passionate community of environmental stewards working together to create a more sustainable and beautiful Sammamish. For more information and to sign up, please visit: https://www.sammamish.us/our-community/volunteer/
