Ziply Fiber Permits Suspended Following Community Concerns
UPDATED Jan. 31
The City has been working diligently with Ziply Fiber representatives since the January 23, 2025 Right-of-Way (ROW) permits suspension to address and resolve the issues encountered during the installation of underground high-speed fiber internet lines. Based on Ziply’s responsiveness and steps taken to resolve issues, the City anticipates lifting the ROW permit suspension for one permit in the upcoming weeks, permit number ROW2024-03745 for construction. The work associated with the permit is mostly located along 228th Avenue Northeast from Northeast 8th Street to Northeast 28th Place. Additional details and the map can be found on the Sammamish Cone Zone webpage.
All other ROW permits issued to Ziply remain suspended as the City and Ziply continue to work to resolve issues. The only work allowed while all other permits are suspended is the securing of active sites for safety, restoration, and erosion control.
As the City considers lifting the suspension on subsequent permits, the community can expect the following:
- Increased inspection coverage of active crew(s) and sites to provide better oversight of the construction and real-time response to community concerns and questions.
- Enhanced communication with City staff.
- Updated notification procedures, including updated language on door hangers to better reflect the work being completed and provide resources to the community.
- Staffing Ziply’s 1-855-950-0779 hotline during business hours.
If you have concerns about Ziply Fiber’s work, please submit a request through the MySammamish website or app under the category “Ziply Impacts & Concerns.” City staff will reply within the request.
